  1. David, as a long-time customer of your seafood shop and a die-hard grouper fan, I suggest you check the quality of those half-pound pack frozen grouper in your stock. I purchased three packs of those last Saturday and cooked one today. I can tell you that strong fishy smell isn’t anything pleasant to enjoy, and is surely an indication that the fish was nowhere near fresh. I ended up dump all of them. In the past your guys normally brought me larger, single fillet that always tasted good. But last week they said they couldn’t find a single fillet as small as 1.5 lbs, so I ended up having 3 smaller packs. As far as I can tell, those smaller packs surely don’t have the same quality as the larger ones. I truly hope this is simply an overlook. Look forward to your better quality grouper this weekend!

    • I’ll check with my supplier to see if he has the same quality in a smaller size that is the same as the larger fillets. Come in when you are near the store and let me try to get you a smaller fillet that is less than 1 1.5 lbs. We get all of our grouper on Tuesdays and Fridays as needed.
I’ll be more than happy to take care of your order when you come in.
Thanks for letting me know about the smaller fillets. Also, the small fillets that you got were from a local distributer but I have never had a complaint. Sorry again.
      David

      • David, thanks for getting back so quickly. This is not a problem at all. Perhaps it is just that I like the larger fillet better than the small ones. Always loved your grouper. But I do notice that the flesh of the larger fillet is more pinkish while the small fillet is more yellowish. Maybe that’s what makes the difference. I will stop by on Saturday to pick up a large fillet 🙂

      • We pulled the smaller fillets yesterday to check it out and then we can inform our suppliers. Hope to see you on Sat. The color that you mention can vary from fish to fish. We see it in Grouper and Snapper all the time. The smaller of the larger fillets always seem lighter in color compared to the large fillets. It’s just natural.
        Take care,
        David
