Capt’n Dave’s Seafood Market

January 21, 2015
Hi everyone!

It’s that time of year again when you’ll notice me talking more about Crawfish than most anything else. Well, it does bring a lot of activity around the store and it keeps us on our toes.

We can’t wait until we are able to cook Crawfish out in front of the store every Saturday for our customers and we really look forward to all the catering we do. So, if you’re looking at the possibilities of having a Crawfish party this year, give us a call, we’ll be more than happy to help you plan your needs. We’ll even cook them for you if you want!

During the Crawfish season, we also encounter the Wild Alaskan Salmon Season. This makes it pretty exciting with all the crawfish parties and everyone coming in to get the first catch of the season of Wild Sockeye Salmon.

I’ll keep everyone updated on when the first shipment comes in from Alaska and how the program works for everyone. It’s right around the corner so keep up with my newsletter.

Last week we were made to believe that Crawfish were available and when the end of the week came up and we needed crawfish, the suppliers informed us on Friday that the water temperatures were too cold at the crawfish farms and that they were not catching enough to be able to meet the demand. Not too big of a disappointment because we didn’t have that many orders this early in the season. The temperatures

down in south Louisiana this week on Friday is suppose to get into the low thirties again and I don’t expect any miracles on the fisherman to catch a lot of crawfish.

But if you are wanting any, please make sure you call us and we will make every effort possible to bring them in for you.
