June 24, 2015
Hi everyone!

First of all everyone, especially all of my long time friends and customers. I want to apologize for not doing my weekly newsletter for the last couple of weeks and also for not being up at the store to see everyone.

On June 5th, I had open heart surgery due to a hereditary problem and emergency room doctors found that I had a large Aorta Aneurysm and a calcified valve that also had a leak.

So, I went through this major operation and I am in recovery stage and today I started my first day of Cardiac Rehab.

It’s going to be a while before I have the strength to be at the store full time but I want to assure all of you that I have four really good employees and they are there to help in any way. If you have any questions and want to speak to me, let my employees know and I will be more than happy to communicate with you.

So, now that I was able to finally get to this newsletter, I want to first thank everyone for their support, we had a pretty decent Father’s Day weekend and I hope everyone was able to enjoy being with their family.

This weekend is nothing special other than the weather is looking pretty nice and if your into grilling, we finally started getting in some beautiful Wahoo. If you’ve never tried it, the other name many are familiar with is “Ono”. In Hawaii, the name Ono is known as Sweet and delicate. It’s a great fish on the grill, it turns snow white and has large flakey meat and everyone who tries it only has great things to say about it.

It’s hard to get on a regular basis so if you get a chance, come by and try some.

This weekend we will still be bringing in fresh Copper River Salmon and we’ll have most anything you may be looking for.

Crawfish is still going strong. Last weekend, we had a couple of our crawfish farms down along I-10 near the Atchafalaya Basin that were flooded over from the tropical storm that came up from the coast last week. Crawfish were impossible to catch at that location.

We’ll still have Crawfish and we’ll still have the Wild Alaskan Sockeye from the Copper River out of Alaska.

So get on board before the season ends for both of these great seafood items and start planning ahead.

*******4th of July is coming up in two weekends********

Reserve your crawfish orders so you don’t miss out. Get on the order book as soon as possible. Protect your order by reserving early. It is important in case there is a shortage. It’s a big weekend all over the south for Crawfish. So you can imagine how many people are wanting crawfish for the 4th of July.

Hi everyone!

Next Special weekend: Father’s Day is June 21st

Father’s Day is coming up on June 21st and we look forward to that weekend because many of you love to cook out on that weekend for your Dad. We should have about anything anyone needs for this occasion and when it comes to cooking outside, our Copper River Salmon is just unbelievable. And I promise, if you have not tried any you will be in for a really nice surprise.

We’ll still have Crawfish and we’ll still have the Wild Alaskan Sockeye from the Copper River out of Alaska.

So get on board before the season ends for both of these great seafood items and start planning ahead.

New Lower Price starting this Week!

UPDATE: COPPER RIVER SOCKEYE: ****20.99 a lb****

The Copper River Sockeye are starting to come in to the mouth of the Copper River from the Pacific Ocean much more than the previous two weeks and now that there are more being caught, the fisherman have been able to drop their prices and pass it on to me. Our prices are at least 5.00 a pound less than anyone and we also have our fillets vacuumed sealed for even more freshness. And from now on the fillets that come in on our next shipment will be bone out and that only happens when they don’t have to ship our orders out the same day they get caught and processed. When doing this, the bones pull the meat out when deboned.

So this will help everyone from dealing with the bones.

So, just so everyone is clear on this, during the first two to three weeks of the opening of the Copper River Salmon season, the demand is so strong that they whatever they catch has to be shipped immediately because there isn’t enough being caught to meet the popular demand. Now that there are more being caught, they can take a day to do the processing and the pin bones can be taken out.

If you have never tried Fresh Copper River Sockeye Salmon, you are in for a treat.

One of the best tasting, most healthiest fish you’ll ever eat!!

This fish has a slight buttery-nutty flavor and is full of rich omega-3 fats. Great for your heart and absolutely delicious!

Reserve your order or call fist to make sure we haven’t sold out before you come up to the store.

Hi everyone!

I hope everyone enjoyed this past Memorial weekend. We sure enjoyed seeing all of you at the store. Sorry I wasn’t there the whole weekend, I had some medical issues and my guys at the store took care of the store while I was out.

The crawfish and the Copper River Sockeye Salmon was a big hit this weekend along with a lot of other seafood but those two items were really big.

Father’s Day is coming up on June 21st and we look forward to that weekend because many of you love to cook out on that weekend. We should have about anything anyone needs for this occasion and when it comes to cooking outside, our Copper River Salmon is just unbelievable. UPDATE: COPPER RIVER SOCKEYE: ****23.99 a lb****

Our fisherman are fishing a 36 hour opening this week and we expect our next shipment to arrive on Friday. We’ll have Copper River Sockeye available for everyone

starting again on Friday.

Our fisherman had another opening starting this past Monday and this opening allowed them to fish for 36 hours. Their catch was delivered to our processors this morning in Alaska, they fillet each fish, pack it for shipping and our next shipment will arrive this Friday (5-29). We look forward to receiving this shipment because we are sold out. It’s a really popular fish this time of year and with our prices a 6.00 lower than anyone in town this next delivery will be sold out pretty quick too.

So, if you are wanting an experience that you’ll always look forward to, try some and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

If you have the opportunity to call the store, try reserving some so you won’t be left out.

Prices haven’t dropped as of this week due to the demand and also the low catch these guys are haing up

If you have never tried Fresh Copper River Sockeye Salmon, you are in for a treat.

Hi everyone!

Yes it’s finally here!!

Memorial weekend is this coming weekend and it’s truly one of our largest weekends of the year for us. It’s going to be a great weekend for everyone and we want to make sure it stays that way. There are so many parties and gatherings among friends and families and we hope everyone plans early enough so they secure what they need on a weekend that absorbs most anything that’s popular. Especially when it comes to Seafood or Crawfish.

We have many orders already placed from weeks prior and Crawfish, Shrimp and Alaskan Copper River Sockeye is this weeks most popular items. So if you are looking for any, you need to get on board before it’s too late.

Once again, this is the biggest weekend for Crawfish and the fishermen will be struggling to meet this weeks demand.

UPDATE: COPPER RIVER SOCKEYE: ****23.99 a lb****

We were the only store to receive the first of the season Wild Copper River Sockeye from Alaska this weekend. All the suppliers around the area were calling me because they found out that I was the only store getting any. Central Market, Whole Foods, Seafood Supply and Ocean Beauty, no one got any.

Dealing with the fisherman and not the middle man really helps out and it also helps in keeping the cost down.

By the way, because I cut out the middle man, you’ll find that when the Copper River Sockeye is available through other stores, the cost will be 6.00 a pound more than my Copper River Sockeye.

Central Market and Whole Foods: 29.99 lb.

We have a really exciting week at the store this week with the second opening of the ALASKAN COPPER RIVER SALMON SEASON.

Our fisherman will be fishing for 24 straight hours starting today. The catch that they bring in will be delivered directly to the Cannery for processing and shipped out to me on Wednesday. We’ll have Fresh Copper River Sockeye available on Thursday and also for Memorial weekend. I am expecting approx. 150 whole fillets on this next shipment and the next opening will be at the end of the week. We would appreciate everyone that is wanting any to please call the store and let us know how much you might be needing.

So, please reserve your first of the season Fresh Alaskan Sockeye. It would greatly be appreciated so we know how much to bring in.

If you have never tried Fresh Copper River Sockeye Salmon, you are in for a treat.

Hi everyone!

The first subject that I wanted to bring up was that I hope that all the Mother’s out there had a wonderful Mother’s Day Weekend. Thanks to many of you that came by the store also.

Sorry the weather wasn’t what most everyone was hoping for but I hope everyone had a great weekend being together.

UPDATE: COPPER RIVER SOCKEYE

We have a really exciting week at the store this week with the first opening of the ALASKAN COPPER RIVER SALMON SEASON.

The first day of opening is this Thursday(May 14th). Our fisherman will be fishing for eight straight hours. The catch that they bring in will be delivered directly to the Cannery for processing and shipped out to Dallas on Friday for a Saturday delivery. I will know exactly when the shipment arrives from Alaska at DFW Airport on Saturday afternoon. I am expecting approx. 100 fillets on the first shipment and we would appreciate everyone that is wanting any to please call the store and let us know how much you might be needing. I have until Wednesday to increase my order in case the 100 fillets is not enough. The next opening won’t be until the following week.

Cost to you based on what the fisherman are telling me will be around 23.00 a pound.

So, please reserve your first of the season Fresh Alaskan Sockeye. It would greatly be appreciated so we know how much to bring in on our first shipment.

Some customers have already reserved up to 8 sides each and some have ordered just one side. It all adds up quickly and I want to make sure I bring in enough to meet everyone’s orders.

Prices around town will probably be in the upper 20’s and 30’s for the same fish. I bypass all the middle people and buy directly from the fisherman to save my customers everything I can. Please trust that I will keep my cost down for everyone to enjoy.

CRAWFISH UPDATE:

WE WILL BE COOKING CRAWFISH ON SATURDAY AS LONG AS THE WEATHER HOLDS UP.

PRICES: same as last week

Field Runs(mixed sizes, no grading, no washing) 3.25 lb

Wild Copper River Sockeye arriving on Saturday May 16th

If everything goes as planned, we will be getting the first fresh shipment of Fresh Sockeye Salmon of the season on May 16th. We bypass all the middle suppliers and we should have it here before anyone else does. Our Fish are being caught on the opening day of the season which is May 14th. My fisherman will deliver the first catch to our processors and they will process and ship out the following day so that it arrives in Dallas on Saturday.

May is a perfect month for grilling with friends and family. The flavor of the Alaskan Wild Sockeye Salmon is rich and full of healthy Omega 3 oils. I believe it has a little nutty buttery flavor. Give us a call and reserve some. It’ll be the tastiest fish you’ve had in a long time. There’s nothing like it.

Take care!

David
